This Fall has been an exciting season for our riders at Talbot Run. Our Pony Club Riding Center, and our lesson students and boarders have competed in a variety of disciplines – bringing home lots of ribbons and learning a lot. Our riders have competed at recognized dressage shows, local FADS (Frederick Dressage Association Shows), Loch Moy eventing, Pony Club Dressage, Jumping and Tetrathalon (jumping, shooting, swimming and running) rallies. We have seen new partnerships between new horse owners nurture and grow and continued hard work and connection between our lesson students and our noble, compassionate and hardworking Talbot Run lesson horses. It has been inspiring to see our riders work hard, conquer challenges and progress in their mounted and unmounted equestrian knowledge. We invite you to join us and continue on the path to deepening our connection with our equine friends. If you are interested in joining our Pony Club Riding Center or in signing up for our lesson program – contact Ann at firstname.lastname@example.org/301 – 648-7602.
Talbot Run is planning to offer a series of Dressage and Jumping clinics with local trainers over the next few months. Our goal is to work with our aspiring riders in refining their skills and providing them with opportunities to meet local horsemen and horsewoman as they grow and become members of the local equestrian community. Our first clinician is a close neighbor – Michele Wellman – owner of By Chance Farm. We have had the opportunity to take many of our riders to By Chance for dressage shows and we are looking forward to working and learning with Michele. Let me know if you are interested in participating – spots will be available on a first come first sign up basis. Jumping groups will be formed based on interest and horse choices. michele-wellman-show-jumping-clinic

Phoebe has trained and competed many dozens of horses at the USDF and FEI levels, earning her the USDF Bronze Medal, USDF Silver Medal and USDF Musical Freestyle Bronze Bar. She has attended the regional CBLM and GAIG/USDF Championships with a long list of mounts. In addition to technical test riding, she has choreographed and successfully competed musical freestyles, pas de deuxs, and quadrilles.
Phoebe’s love of competition naturally led her into a desire to teach lessons. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Phoebe’s instruction always relates to the training scale, biomechanics of the horse and rider, and the correctness that the movements develop from the basics. Thornridge Manor has been awarded MDA Trainer of the Year for every year that their students have competed.
In addition to riding and teaching, Phoebe began her journey as a judge in 1999, when she completed the L Program with distinction. She received her “r” status in 2006.
