Meet the Horses

LESSON HORSE

"Irish is an 18 year old 15.2 Percheron/Quarter Horse cross gelding. He is my favorite horse on the farm because he is the most trustworthy and gentle horse I ride. He clears every jump we ride with willingness and an easy stride. He loves any treats you can give him and is very sweet."  -Ellie Parsons, age 13

OWNER HORSE

"Mouse aka Rocket Mouse.  Mouse is my 22 year old dun quarter pony.  I love him so much.  He loves to jump and go fast but he takes good care of me. We are working on jumping higher and in control.   He likes dressage too!  Mouse loves cookies and carrots." -  Lilia Rogers, age 10

"Lucy is a 15h TB mare. She is a flea-bitten gray. I love Lucy because she is the sweetest horse and she’s very gentle. Lucy is a beautiful jumper and she loves doing Dressage. "Meet Samatha as we call her Sam! Named after Samantha in Frozen 2. She was formerly a brood mare and had many babies. She is a TB 16h, 20 yo. She loves attention and loves to wear navy blue! "Hershey is a 15-year-old Arabian X Paint Mare. She is 13 hands. Hershey is a championship Games Pony and loves to go fast & win! She absolutely loves bananas. Hershey is my favorite pony because she was my 10th birthday present and my best friend!"    -Aubrey G., age 10

LESSON/OWNER HORSE "Glory is my 30+ year old 10h Welsh Mountain pony.  I learned to ride on her when I was 3 and we cantered when I turned 5. I love Glory because she is sweet and fast.  We play games and jump little jumps.  She is retired most of the time." -  Lilia Rogers, age 10

"Autumn is an 11 year old 14.2h Quarter Horse Mare.  She events and loves to jump. She has a very funny, sweet personality and enjoys attention. My favorite part about her is her legs - they have stripes on them making her look part zebra!  They look really good in the summer." - Hannah Norman, age 14

"Cash (Stash the Cash) is a 6 yr old 16.3hh OTTB gelding that raced 27 times in his first career. He is being restarted in Hunters discipline. Cash has a very kind, and curious personality that loves people, horses, and all the other animals at the barn." - Jules Rock

"Sierra (aka Sierra Mist) is a 15h 8yo Paint/Hungarian mare. I love Sierra Mist because she's fun, spunky, and keeps me on my toes. She loves going on trail rides, playing games, and is really good at jumping. Her favorite treats are Stud Muffins and peppermints." - Abigail Durst, age 15

BOARDER HORSE

"Badger is a 16 year old 17hh bay OTTB gelding. He loves food and will do anything for a treat. His jumps are awesome but flat is too boring for this guy who loves to run!" -Cassie Baugher, age 15

 "Bonzai is a 15 year old 15.2hh Paint gelding. I love him so much because he has the best attitude and never acts up! He loves to jump, and also LOVES his treats! I think one of his most favorite things to  do though, is roll!"

RETIRED

"Logan is an 18 year old Off Track Thoroughbred (OTTB) gelding,  standing at 16.2hh. While he was a lesson horse he loved to jump and  took riders to competitions in Pony Club and home shows. Now Logan  spends his days in the retirement field eating all the grass he wants  and getting spoiled with lots of treats." - Rain Albert, age 22

"Hobbes is a 13 year old 14.2 Arabian cross who came from an Eventing barn in Culpeper, VA and loves to jump. However, he also learned to love to gallop and now is an excellent mounted games pony. Hobbes sun-bleaches in the summer to a dark brown but is black in the fall and winter." - Matt Brown

"Brisk is a 22-year-old 15-hand Hanovarian gelding. Brisk is a dressage horse who has shown in Prix. Saint George by Ms. Robin. Brisk loves any type of treats, apples, carrots, peppermints, you name it and he loves it." - Sofia Braun, age 16

LESSON HORSE

 "Cleo is a 16 year old, 15.3 OTTB mare. She's  proficient at dressage, and was even featured as Best Draw by IEA. She's  also a good pick for jumping small courses, but can be a little forward  sometimes. She loves trail riding most of all. Cleo is known  for her love of peppermints, and sometimes will even tilt her head like a  dog when asking for one!" - Anna Rodgers, age 18

"Royal is a beautiful 26yr old Quarter Horse Chestnut Gelding with a full white blaze. Trust me, he knows he is handsome. Royal is my favorite horse at the barn because he does all the fancy Dressage moves, perfects every test, and really enjoys music. Royal gives amazing hugs and sloppy kisses, but you have to earn them! He is the best and I love him so  much!" - Amani Amalgro, age 12

"Chase is an 18-year-old 16.2 hand  OTTB. He can often  be recognized by the odd star on his head in the shape of a check-mark. He loves to go fast but he makes up for it with the amount of effort he puts into EVERYTHING. You can trust this horse will give 110% every time you work with  him.
