All weeks will have a regular camp component and be available to all levels of riders. In every camp, our more advanced groups will have instruction in both jumping and dressage.
Specialty Camps:
June 22-26 & August 3-7 – Jump Camp – This camp will focus on the nuts and bolts of Show Jumping. In addition to jumping lessons each day, riders will participate in a variety of unmounted activities to learn more about the mechanics of jumping, equitation and different jumping disciplines. All riders must be able to jump an 18-inch course mostly at the canter. We will end the week with a Jumper Show. Instruction will be differentiated by level and experience. Early July participants will be encouraged to sign up for our Equitation Show at TREC in July. We will be planning an advanced show jump group for those who are competing as part of this camp.
August 3-7 — Eventing Camp – This camp will provide instruction in the three phases of eventing – dressage, show jumping and cross country. Riders will learn more about eventing scoring and mechanics, conditioning horses for competition and the Vet box. We will compete in a mini event at the end of the week. In order to ride in the cross-country portion, riders must be able to ride safely outside the ring and jump small solid jumps in the field. A certified jumping vest is required to jump outside the ring – we have a few to borrow but cannot guarantee all sizes. An instructor’s approval is required/ability to jump a course of 5-7 2 ft. fences at the canter. Instruction will be differentiated by level and experience.
August 10-14 – Musical Camp (all levels) – This is an annual event and very popular, we have many campers come back year after year! During this camp, riders will choreograph a group ride to music, create costumes and perform at the end of the week. All levels of riders are encouraged to attend. Campers will also participate in all the regular camp activities as well.
All camps will include multiple levels of instruction in both jumping and dressage. We will try to trail ride at least once each week – weather and staffing permitting. Camp hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm each day.
